30 SECONDS By Tammy Glover

“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be your confidence.” Proverbs 3: 24-26 NIV

I can’t believe you woke me up in the middle of the night again. Despite how precious my time is, you continue to waste it. Every time I try to do something positive, here you come, rearing your ugly head. I’m not worried about hurting your feelings anymore because you’ve never been concerned about hurting mine, which you constantly do. Uninvited guests wear out their welcome mighty quick and you’ve been allowed to stay for far too long.

You have thirty seconds to get your things and leave. That’s right, just thirty seconds to get your worries. I’m tired of them waking me up. Thirty seconds to get your doubt. I’m tired of tripping over it when I walk out the door. Thirty seconds to get your chaos. I’m tired of looking at it in my house, on my street and at my job.

You’re making me sick, literally. My head hurts. My stomach is in knots. My blood pressure and my sugar are high. I’m exhausted. Why did I ever let you in here? You make me want to scream and pull my hair out.

Listen to me when I’m talking to you and wipe that smirk off your face! Fear, you have thirty seconds to go. I talk to a friend of mine, you may have heard of him. His name is Jesus. He told me that I don’t have to be afraid of you anymore. He told me that he came so that I can enjoy my life. I don’t have to be chained to you anymore. He said all things are possible with him. Remember all those times you said I couldn’t? I know you lied now. He told me to cast all my worries on him. He’ll provide for all my needs. He’ll advise me on what to do. He’ll comfort me. He’ll protect me. I don’t need you anymore, Fear. I just need for you to go. Love is here now. The clock is ticking. Remember, you only have thirty seconds. One, two, three…wait, you’re moving too slowly. I’m afraid you’re going to have to go now.

Oh what, you’re upset because I lied about you having thirty seconds? You’ve been lying to me all my life. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, if I see you around here again or if I see you moving in on my family, friends, coworkers or enemies, I’m telling Jesus. You have to answer to him now. Goodbye!

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” 2 Thessalonians 3: 16 NIV

OPEN YOUR MOUTH By Tammy Glover

“The tongue has the power of life and death.” Proverbs 18: 21 NIV

Open your mouth and praise the Lord. Open your mouth and speak life. Open your mouth and rebuke evil. Open your mouth to confess that Jesus is Lord.

Don’t stay silent when you’re in pain. Go ahead and cry out to the Lord. When you’ve been told that there is no cure or that God’s promises won’t be fulfilled, shout out the Word. Scream, “I am healed by his stripes! God loves me so much that he gave his only son! God will fulfill that which concerns me! All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me!”

You’re not shy when it comes to talking about how bad things are. You’re not afraid to complain. Why are you scared to speak what you know in your heart to be true? God loves you. He came so that you can have an abundant life. Open your mouth and move some mountains. Sing his praises. He hears you and so does the enemy. They tremble at the mention of the name of Jesus and they rejoice when you speak doubt and hatred. Now, do you want to make the enemy tremble or rejoice? I don’t care if you yell, just open your mouth.

“My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.” Psalm 145:21 NIV

GET ‘EM JESUS! By Tammy Glover

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

Lord, they need you. There are people who have never heard of you. There are some who have heard your name but they don’t know who you really are. Some people are in so much pain that their vision is blurry and they can not see you. Others have heard too many people say the wrong things that they can not hear you. There are some who have lost so much hope that they can not believe in you. Others believe but have made so many mistakes that they’re too afraid to seek you. Get ’em Jesus

There are those who know you but they can’t comprehend how much you love them. They don’t recognize your power. People who have claimed to speak for you, have hurt them so they’ve decided to give up on you. Some want to believe in you but they live in a world where violence, greed and hatred runs rampant. Their hearts are broken and they have become too exhausted to continue fighting. They’re confused and they feel lonely. Get ’em Jesus.

Lord, I will not stop loving them. I will show them what you look like every time they see me. I will speak on your goodness and mercy. I will continue to pray for us all. I will not give up.

Lord, we need you. Get us!

“And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 20 NIV

MOVE! By Tammy Glover

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20 NIV

It’s frustrating feeling as if you’re stuck in a place where you don’t belong. You’ve caught glimpses of your future and it’s so close that you can touch it. You know what you need to do to get there but you’re blocked. There’s a huge mountain standing in your way.

Your mountain can be anything holding you back. It can be fear, shame, doubt, pride, anger, laziness or just a bad attitude. You try to ignore it and walk around it, but it’s too big to ignore. You try to push it out the way but it’s too heavy. You try to kick it out the way but you just end up with a broken toe. You become exhausted and you consider giving up. Maybe you were wrong. Maybe you made too many mistakes to deserve that future. These thoughts only add to your mountain.

Finally, you realize that you need some help moving that mountain out of your way. Your friends and family can’t help because it’s too big for them. They might not have been given the opportunity to take a peek at your future. They also don’t feel the same urgency to get there as you do either. This is when you call on God, who has been waiting for you all along. After all, he is the author of your future. In a blink of an eye, he can remove that mountain. You begin to heal. The bumpy roads become smooth. The doors start to open.

Why are we so quick to open our mouths to complain to anyone who will listen but wait until the last minute to call on God for help? There is nothing he can’t do. It doesn’t matter how much of a mess we’ve made or how far we thought we tried to run away from him. He’s is still there, loving us and watching over us. He has never given up on us, so don’t you dare give up on him. If he has placed a dream inside of your heart, he will lead you to it. It doesn’t matter how many mountains you have or how big they are, with God on your side, you can say, “Move!”

“With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27 NIV
