“They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds.” Psalm 145:6 NIV

When life is constantly beating you up, it’s easy to forget that we have someone that’s more powerful in our corner. Sometimes, our hurt, frustration, anger and bitterness blinds us to this fact. Even in times of trials we must never forget that our God is El-Shaddai, God Almighty. His power is endless.

If He parted the Red Sea to help the Israelites escape danger, He will part seas for us. If He used all the injustices against Joseph to place him in a position of prosperity, He will do it for us. If He granted great wisdom to King Solomon, He will grant it to us too. If He delivered a man possessed with a legion of demons, He will deliver us. If He can heal someone who is hearing impaired and unable to speak, He will open our ears and loosen our tongues to speak of His glory. If He can bring Lazarus back from the dead, He can cure our cancer. If He can heal the paralyzed, He can guide our steps. If He used Moses, the prophets and the apostles to spread His Word, He can use us too. If He can restore honor to a prostitute, He can restore us too.

All these mighty works that the Lord has done didn’t stop after the apostles died or after the Bible was written. God still has the power. It is up to each and every one of us to believe. Mark 6:5 NIV says, “He could not do miracles there, except lay his hands on a few people and heal them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith.” I don’t want to limit God’s power and blessings in my life because of my lack of faith. When in the darkness, let the Lord be your light. When life beats you down, look up to your Heavenly Father, His power is unlimited.

“They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works.” Psalm 145:5 NIV

MY SECRET WEAPON by Tammy Glover

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” Philippians 4:4 NIV

I have a secret weapon. It defeats my enemies. It tears down walls. It loosens chains. No matter what circumstance, I am always armed.

My secret weapon is praise. I praise God when I’m happy and when I’m hurting. I praise God when I’m among friends and when I’m surrounded by my enemies. I praise God for success and when I’m rejected.

I know it seems strange to some when I lift my hands and rejoice with tears in my eyes and I look defeated. They don’t understand the nature of my weapon. When I praise the Lord, I am trusting Him to take care of me. I am acknowledging the fact that there is no problem greater than Him. As an added bonus, I’m confusing the enemy too.

There is no special skill required to use this powerful weapon. All you need to do is say, “thank you, Lord. I know that you are almighty. All things are possible with you.”

Now, the next time the devil attacks, have faith and take out your secret weapon.

“Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.” Nehemiah 9:5 NIV

“Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 NIV

Forget about flowers this Valentine’s Day. My Valentine grows fields of flowers just for me. Forget about jewelry. My Valentine lives in a kingdom where the streets are made of gold and the gates are encrusted with pearls and precious gems. Forget about a fancy dinner. My Valentine makes food rain down from heaven.

Hands down, I have the best Valentine in the world. He’s not just wonderful on February 14th; he’s like this all year round. He provides for my every need. Anything I ask of him, he gives it freely. He’s always there when I need him. I never have to worry or fear when I step out the door because he has employed an entourage of angels to protect me.

Chivalry is not dead with him, it’s an art form. Instead of placing his jacket on top of a puddle for me to walk across, he parts seas. He opens and closes doors for me as needed. My honor is always safe with him. There isn’t a battle that he won’t fight on my behalf. If there is something in my way, all I need to say is, “move, “in his name and it will move, even mountains.

I trust him completely. He never lies and he keeps all his promises. I am deeply in love with him and he is deeply in love with me. There is no place that I can go that he does not take pleasure in going with me. He never forgets a birthday or an anniversary. He even knows the number of hairs on my head. He knows my every thought and he knows my heart. If this was an ordinary man, this would creep me out and I would feel suffocated. Thankfully, he’s no ordinary man. Even though he is mighty, his intentions are always pure and good.

I am beautiful and wonderful in his sight even without make-up or my hair done. He is kind and patient. He loves me unconditionally. When I make mistakes, he doesn’t laugh or mock me. He builds me up and cleans up my messes. He easily forgives me when I’m wrong.

The best thing of all, he laid down his life for me. That’s right; he died and rose from the dead just so that my soul would be saved. If you still don’t know who I’m talking about, his name is Jesus. There’s no need to be jealous ladies, because he can be your Valentine too. He has more than enough love to share with the whole world.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him.” Psalm 103:11 NIV
